3rd time of trying, please read need peace of mind

At easter time I met this guy, his name is Karl. I met him in a night club that I go to frequently. Not to speak to but introduced to, but instantly I felt an attraction to him. Nothing happened though as I was with another guy at the time. Just looking at one another that is all.
Then two weeks ago I was in the same club and I spotted him and he walked over....we chatted for ages one thing led to another and we kissed. Ended up being with each other all night. I felt a connection to him and thought he was gods gift in that one night. At the end of the night I took him number and txt him when I got home saying I had a good night and everything and that I really liked him. He txt back saying he had good night etc. Now at this point I was doing work training in Northern Ireland but came back over here for weekends here and there, which I told him on the night. The next day I sent him a txt and replied, I said he should come out that night but he said he didnt know if he could. His Mam was over from Iran and only comes home once a year. He txt me later on saying he couldnt make it also. Anyway cutting to the chase I went back to Ireland but we stayed in contact, I came home permantly on Monday, today is Wednesday. Before I came home however I txt him on Saturday night when I was out. I like him so much but made it blantly obvious, cant remember what I said to him but I think I mentioned his ex which he only finished with two weeks ago. I thought something was up because it was me making all the first moves and I thought if he really liked me then it wouldnt be like that...here is what he said to my reply ...
"Yea I still feel funny about finishing with Kelly. I really feel messed up about it. There is just too much going on. But we can see what happens. You know how complicated it is. We can have fun though. How is your night anyway?"
Cant remember what I replied to this, but next day I said I was very drunk and I bet my txts made no sense so sorry...but no reply
So today I went into town and bumped into him, my friend was with me and it was awkward...couldnt look him in the eye, he mentioned going out on Saturday night, and I was like yea I might be etc...
I just want to contact him and say something ...but what can I say? Does he like me? Shud I stay away if hes still messed up about the ex? Should I just forget about him and move on? Just want to contact him n say contact me if u like when ur ready and weel go out for a drink! What do I do...messed up about this one because I do really like him...

Well,... it seems like u have everything in the rite place... I mean, u know what u WANT to do and what u would SAY, so what's stopping u? u have everything that u want to do, all u have to do is do it,...
This guy is acting like he likes u, but jus as a friend and sumone cool to hang out with for now, bcuz he is still getting over his ex... which will take time to happen, so jus let him contact u when he is ready, but tell him that ur waitn, dont jus stop talkin to him, txt msg him and jus be like, Hey, i was jus gonna say that i have alot of fun when im with u and if and when ur ready, u can get ahold of me to hang out or whatever, but take ur time and ill be waitin...
Now, when u said that u dont remember what u told him, is that bcuz u were drunk and u think u may have said sumthin bout his ex? well, if so, maybe when ur drunk, u shouldnt have ne contact with him, in case u may say sumthin by accident that upsets him or whatever and mess the whole 'realtionship' u two have up... jus watch what u say and follow what i said before...
