I could of probably gone on the sex site for this, but I like this one better. Anyway, I’m writing to get the word out about STD’s. I’ve had the unfortunate opportunity to actually get a few myself in the course of my 27 years of my life and really want people out there to become educated about the facts so they can make the right decisions for themselves. I don’t know how we can cure them in this generation, but if we start now, maybe we can change the world. Big dream I know, but if I can prevent one person from contracting an STD, I’ve done my job. So, if anybody would like to join my in helping me show the world that it can happen to you if you’re not careful, please help by putting your age, sex and the STD’s you’ve contracted or simply just a number indicating how many. No need to give your name. I feel that because of my misfortune, it’s my duty to do what I can to help all of you avoid it. If someone decides to make stupid remarks like I’ve seen people do, those who find this informative, don’t worry about defending this e-mail and responding back to those idiots. I’m a little nervous myself for even doing this because of the responses I feel I may get, but I feel as if I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING! Feel free to add what you want to your response (like your story), in the hopes to educate all about the importance of using condoms, limiting your sexual partners or staying abstinent until married. Alright, here it goes…
1) Female, 27, Herpes, warts, gonoria (sp?). Contracted herpes while in a commited relationship, warts and gonoria by making bad sexual choices.

Yes, this is very helpful - awareness is the key in today's world.
Leading a Christian life & personally choosing to wait until marriage before becoming intimate with someone somewhat diminishes the chances of contracting such diseases but I am not judging anyone. Everyone chooses the way they want to live their lives and that's their decision.
Greater education about the dangers of casual sex and promotion of family values is the way forward.
I also applaud you for using your own experience to help others - it's a great thing to do :)

Well, I certianly applaud you in trying to help someone else to perhaps learn from your past mistakes...
I luckily have never contracted an STD, however it was only by the grace of God... I was married and my husband decided to mess around, he said later that he had always used protection, but who the hell really knows...
After I left him I got tested for anything and everything under the sun... and thankfully was safe....
But as both of these ladies have said in their stories, just because someone is suppose to be exclusive with you, don't always think it's the case....
PLEASE protect yourselves!

I think it is a very good idea to do things like this,
2) Female, 18, Herpes, Warts, Crabs
I contracted all of them with being in a bad relationship and thinking things were going to change and thinking we had been together for 4 years why use a condom right? WRONG, People dont relize how common STD's really are, and are embarressed to talk about it. Always be careful, Because of somebodys selfishness not to tell me, I have to live with this for the rest of my life.
