Me and this kid have been best friends forever, i have liked him for a really long time. He used to always act like he likes me one day then act like he doesn't the next. he knew i liked him, so it was hard when he would do this. well these last two months he decided he liked me and actually told me, it was a lot of fun. but then all of a sudden he stops acting like it, he stops calling, stops coming over to my house. it's so frustrating, so i call his best friend to ask him what's going on. and he tells me that he basically can't make up his mind, one day he'll like me and the next he won't. but this last time he liked me for like 2 months. and went on vacation for 2 weeks and came back acting all different, and didn't like me anymore. I can't handle it anymore cuz i really care about him, but it's hard for me to deal with this on again off again so called phases he is going through. i love being around him, but it's hard knowing once again he just wants to be friends. it's been like this since we've become best friends. why does he do this. why can't he just make up his mind?

Hi ,
This is too ironic! Let me NOT tell you what I mean by that. It would have been nice for me to have some age-clue to know what I'm dealing with. If you two are young (like I'm guessing), then you must realise that he can be fickle -- sorry to say. It's very frustrating to deal with someone like that, but hey! I'd suggest talking to him about it. There's nothing like an increasing rapport. But if you ask some anonymous expert, they'd say the same. When you talk to him, verbalize exactly what's on your mind. You (or him) shouldn't be uncomfortable with this, being that you revealed your feelings for him. However, you wont get too far with fickle people; how annoying. This is because you, or them, have absolute-zero control over how ones feelings fluctuate over time. If his feelings aren't stable enough for you to deal with, you should move on for a while and give his emotions time to develope.
