Title:
curious as to why (24 dating 15) is viewed wrong..
By: mistified
Here's something I was just pondering, and wondering why there's such a heavy emphisis placed on not doing this. A 15 year old seems really interested in me, but I know I shouldn't persue it (AND WON'T), because I'm 24. I've been taught it's wrong, etc. But I was just thinking about in general it's ok for a 30 year old to date 20, etc, so why not 15 and 24? Is it the maturity thing?

I know that age do not matter, as long as you are in love with this guy, but he is too young, so why not wait until he turns 17 or 18, simple, huh?

I like the way you've put it, Enigma -
"24 years of age is considered an adult 15 years of age is considered a minor"
sums it up nicely :)

Because it's illegal.
24 years of age is considered an adult 15 years of age is considered a minor
30 years of age is considered an adult 20 years of age is also considered an adult
They don't call it JAIL bait for nothing

I don't think it's soo much for a maturity level, I mean that has to do with it, but also it has to do with the reasons for dating. Both will have different reasons, and one will manipulate another. I mean it's why there is ratings on movies, rated R is for 17 and older. The material isn't appropriate for younger adults. As for a 30 year old dating a 20 year old it is considered appropriate because both have gone through puberty, learned life lessons and have a clearer view on life.. Thats why I think it's considered wrong.
