I have a problem that has been bothering me for a while. I am a 17 year old girl who is dating an older guy. We get along great we have so much in common, he respects me and treats me great. We havnt been together for 2 long. approx 3 months, but in that short time ive come to care for him very deeply. the problem is everyone else. They look down on us because of the big age diff. ( hes 26 and im 17). I am more mature then the average 17 year old, and we have no problem with the age diff. but it seems the rest of the world does.. do you think we are doing something wrong? I mean im jus following what i think is right. With everyone seeing a problem with it makes me feel as if were doing something terrible.. plz tell me what u think... also many ppl think hes just with me for sex... but weve been together for 3 months and we havnt had sex yet. im still a virgin. so it cant b for that. Id appreciate any opinions thanks:)
I agree with sam. Modern society doesn't take to well to minors involved with older men (for reasons you've expressed). This kind of love will take time since your family will have to get used to the Idea that his Intentions are indeed noble.

Even though you are still a minor, I don't think it's that bad of an age difference... you'll be eighteen soon. BUT I can understand your friend's and families' concern. One way to solve this is bring him around your family, have him visit with your parents. If he loves you truly -- he will WANT to get to know the people in your life. Good luck
