I dated this guy almost a year. Things were amazing, but out of no where he started being a little bit wierd on me. he has had family problems, and I guess he just had no one else to take it out on other then me. Anyways, i broke up with him in september, and after a bit realized i wanted him back. he wanted nothing to do with me, and now out of no where he wants me back. but he wants to take it slow. my parents arent a big fan of him cuz of all the times he made me cry. but this time around he's a huge sweetie. yesterday we hung out for the first time in ages and had an awesome day. i asked him to hang out for new years, but he had plans with his friends. then he calls me at like 11 saying he wants to come see me, but of course i was out so I said no. Then he drove up to pick my friends and I up from a party just to make sure I got home safe. He lives like 40 minutes away. So he chose to stay sober all nite just to make sure I got home ok. I asked him why he did it, and he said it was because nothing would make him more happy then to see me and make sure I was safe. It was really sweet. I just have a feeling a lot of people don't want us together, but shouldn't I look past that and do what makes me happy? or should I listen to what everyone is telling me and stay away...... thank you for helpin me out

You had your doubts once. Just because you might be lonely/sad doesn't mean you wont find someone else who will make you just as happy or ever more. I think at any time during a relationship if a red flag comes up odds are it's a bad thing. He weirded you out before. Don't let his problems become yours. Honestly hun, he sounds a bit possesive. I've seen it lots with myself and friend. Trust me, there is someone out there who will truely make you as happy.

I think that you should give it a try again. It sounds to me that he really cares about you adn if i were you i wouldnt want to pass up on that. However you may want to think back on your past relationship and see what made it go wrong. To either find out if its worth the risk of doing over and or what you can do to prevent it from happening again.
As for people telling you not to get back together with him, id listen to what they have to say so they atleast feel you listen to them and take it to heart knowing that they care about you. But in the end the decision has to be yours.
