after i my wife left me several months ago i started writing down what i was feelign and eventually they turned into poems. now i have never been able to write. even in shool i never passed the writing tests or an essays. i never had the ability to express myself like that.
but i let a few close friends read my poems and they said that they were really good, that i should publish them or do something with them. but since my pain has become comfortable numb i have not been able to write not one thing. i have tried to sit and just start writing about something but it just doesnt work. everything that i write now just totally sucks. not even worthy of putting on paper. but the first 10 or so were great almost perfect(from my heart anyway) and they just seemed to flow straight from my heart to the paper without my mind knowing what i was writing.
was this just my mind tring to deal with the pain at the time or is this just some kind of writers block

Having your wife leave you is a big deal, no matter how strong a person you may have always thought yourself to be.
It's truly amazing how you were able to begin writing these wonderful poems from your heart & perhaps, because they were so real you ran dry for a while...
A gift of creativity like that doesn't just leave you but time itself is a great healer. Dealing with your feelings in this way is brilliant; I really envy your talent.
As the pain heals I'm sure you'll find your ideas & thoughts return to you in a similar fashion to what they were before they left. Keep on letting these feelings flow & it'll only be a matter of time before you're able to write so well again.
