Probability wise, I doubt you are pregnant.
It's definitely POSSIBLE, and yes, it happens, but the likliness of it happeneing aren't likely.
It's actually difficult for a woman to get pregnant. A woman is typically fertile for only so long, I believe around 24 hrs. or so --but sperm can last in the uterus for up to 72 hrs., supposedly. HOWEVER, depending on how long you've been taking the pill, some types of the pill are very strong, and if you miss two days in a row, you can take two as soon as you remember it.
If in the even that you are pregnant, you have several options which you will have to think about. Too many teenage girls keep the baby when they aren't ready -- where adoption is always a great option for settled couples who can't conceive. If you AREN'T pregnant -- you are going to have to think really hard about beig more responsible. Are you truly ready to have sex? If you cannot handle taking the pill -- then you should probably consider the shot (depo provera), but even the shot causes problems in the future -- such has having trouble conceiving when you are ready TO have a baby. Stress can always make your period late, but to be sure, GET a test. It would save you a lot of worry. Conceal the test when you throw it away so nobody would find it... even take it at school if you're that worried.
Bottom line is, is you're very young and having sex, and cannot remember to take a pill and fear getting pregnant and are not ready to have a baby -- then perhaps you shouldn't be having sex anyway. Abstinence is the the only 100 percent guaranteed method.

hey, i responded to your post under Teen, so you can find it there...and i completely agree with what Emma says, she's absolutely right. This is not just something you can put off and hope it goes away, because if things turn out that you ARE pregnant, it's not just going to go away. Take the time and find out, you'll be happy that you did either way. If you are though, make sure you're able to go to the doctor regularly because as a young teen mother, it's going to be difficult-i've known plently of people who went through the same thing. Good Luck and Best Wishes!

Hey! Nice name... & for everyone else - it's not "The" Emma (i.e. me!) who posted this, I'm just the advice giver, so here goes... :-)
Okay... well, there is really only one thing you can do to put your mind at rest & that is to buy a pregnancy testing kit. How about you go to another town where no one knows you & buy one there?
In answer to your question - of course, it's possible you may be pregnant - I don't reckon taking two pills the next day evens things out - if it was the "morning after" pill, things might be different but with the contraceptive pill - I thought you needed to be pretty precise about when you take it & consider other factors which may effect it's strength, like sickness and so on... but I'm no doctor & all I know is from what I've read.
Are you in the UK? If so, you should be able to find help through your school (it seems schools do more of this than teaching nowadays), I believe it's all without parents knowledge... there are lots of options should you turn out to be pregnant too... but this is still a big what-if.
What you mustn't do is not bother to find out for sure because you can rarely ignore being pregnant later down the line!
