Ok I've been seeing this guy off and on for about a year. So you know we're in our early to mid 20's. We've just hung out and kissed. It has't gone further than that until recently it's been headed that way. I told him that things weren't going to happen quickly or easily for him. I told him this because I wanted him to know that I'm not just going to hook up with him when ever he feels like it and that he has to put in some sort of effort in me if he wants more from me. He took that as I wanted him to be my boyfriend. While I love and care about him a lot and would like that, that wasn't what I was implying. So he told me that he didn't want a girlfriend. I said sarcastically that it was nice to know I wasn't girlfriend material and he told me he didn't say that I wouldn't be a good gilrfriend but that he just didn't want one. So...am I stupid to think that he does like me and could see me as a girlfriend but just not right now or is he basically saying he doesn't want or see me as HIS girlfriend? THANKS for any advice or opinions you can give!

you should just try to ask him like what his problem is and ask him if he likes you or would ever go out with you if yall are good friends then he should give you a straight out answer. because you need to know!!! and a guy who wants dat before being you are his gurl den you also need to talk to him about dat- im not sayin that its not right im just sayin he needs to put forth that extra effort that you ask for and dont give it to him if he dont earn it sista.
