So i sit next to this really hot guy in chem. im kind of shy and quiet and i don't really know him. he talks to the girl on the other side of him a lot, so i just dont say anything. i really want to talk to him, but i dont know what to talk about.

Ask for help with something you are learning, or something you don't understand. It will be a way to talk to him without having to worry about actual topic starting. It will also make you more comfortable with talking to him so that next time will be easier.
