Hey my name is Cadet DiMatteo. I'm a military man and now I'm in college. I went to Basic Training in July 13, 2005, and out of Advanced Individual Training in June 1, 2006. The Army training has given me many, many things, such as physical fitness, many abilities, money, a huge sense of honor, mental strength that knows no limits, and many more things. Also, thanks to the Army, I was able to get an ROTC scholarship paying all tuition.
Yes, the Army has given me countless gifts. There is only one thing that the United States Army has not given me...someone to love...
Now, I'm in college. My major is Video and so far, I'm making friends. It's just that...I'm starting to get very bored and kind of lonely. There is a 5:1 female/male ratio, and I've been here for over a month, and so far, I have not been on a single date. I hear that girls like a guy in uniform. A few girls know about me being in the military, but no girl has been turned on yet. I don't know if they are too busy, or if they do not know the committment I made to serve the country...
Also, I have at least six girls that I like and want to ask out. We're friendly with each other, but I just do not know what to do. I hope that me being in the Army can be a factor in giving them something to like about me. I hear that I should ask them out, or tell how I feel, but I'm afraid to do that because I don't know them very well and I'm afraid of their reactions. How should I approach them? Just because I'm a member of the Army, I do not want to be cocky towards these girls. Please, someone tell me what to do. If I have more to say, I'll say it later.
P.S.: Please support my brothers in arms, who have fought those wars and are currently in Iraq and Afghanistan...
If you are interested in at least six girls, try asking them out. Um, one at a time. Don't expect them to fall all over you because you are in the military. There are a lot of single guys in the military. So be a nice guy, and try that.

To add to my article, it feels bad for me when I have civilians shaking my hand and thanking me for what I am doing for this country, but having no college girl showing me appreciation and liking me fo who I am. I hope anyone can understand what that feels like. Take care.
