My S.O. and I have become distant. He still shows signs that he loves me, but we rarely are intimate and there's no affection at all. Whenever I mention us never spending quality time together, he does the bare minimum to keep me quiet for a while.
Although, I don't think he's cheating at the moment, but I know there is something definitely not right. It's as if he's avoiding me and our line of communication is null & void.
I just don't know what to do because I truly love him. I've asked him if he wants to move on and salvage a friendship. His only response is that there's no other woman, etc.
Please give me any insight possible. I don't want to wait around until he finds someone else if that's the case. Yet, I don't want to assume our relationship is over and something unforgiveable happens.
I feel as though I'm rotting away from the inside out.
Main Question: How long should a person wait on someone without having any contact (i.e. phone call, visit or conversation) before they know it's offically over.

How long do you want to torture yourself?
If you can't confront him and get him to open up about what is wrong then I suggest you set a deadline and keep to it. What determines the deadline? How long do you want to torture youself with wondering?
