I just moved to another state and now i've lived here for 2 years. i am kinda outgoing but at my old school there was this really mean girl that smashed all my confidence. Little by little i have been getting it back. In my 8th grade year i was kinda popular. i mean i think everyone liked me just fine. I am the happy go lucky type of girl, but at the end of 8th it seemed like all of a sudden the popular girls didn't like me as much anymore. Now i'm a freshman in high school and i was wanting some advice on how to be really popular at school. Oh and i am pretty too.

Popularity is something that all teens want but only a few get. Being popular is like being famous in a way. And just like being famous, being popular doesn't last forever. Look at Michael Jackson, he was once loved by everyone, now he's the butt of every joke. This is a vicious cycle. When I was in Junior High, there was a group of popular kids that pretty much ruled the school, but by the time I graduated, most of them weren't very popular anymore. It usually happened because their so-called friends stabbed them in the back and had rumors going all over the school about all of them. I know this sounds like a big deal, but you will soon realize how petty popularity is. Just live your life your own way, do try to be someone your not and you will make real friends. No one is friends with everyone.

First and foremost, being pretty doens't translate into popularity. And secondly, don't think being popular is everything either. Obviously you care about it though, but being popular isn't something you can really control. It depends on the type of person you are. Are you likable? Are people annoyed by you? Those are the types of things that factor into popularity status. Another thing, popular people in middle school can totally change to being an outcast in high school, and vice-versa. It just depends on who you are and you personality.
