I recently asked a guy who was older than me out but was refused. When i asked him though, he turned bright red and looked really embarrassed. My friends said he is a really shy person and has never had a girlfriend. We still talk and are friends. Whenever I see him he always says hi or waves. I wanna know if maybe i should wait or should i look elsewere since we may only be friends.

ok, fi you've already made the fisrt move and he didn't jump on it regardless if he's shy, then maybe it's a bit too soon for him. If yu guys are freinds right now, I think it's best to remain that way until he feels comforatble enough with you. He may want to be with you, but not know how to say it. Wait a while before giving him another clue, then oncce you do, if he still doesn't show interest in dating then stay as friends. He may not be ready. And you don't want to push a frienship into a relationship, and lose both.
