I've been dating this girl, we'll call her 'Rachel', for almost 3 months now, and we are in love. Though 3 months doesn't seem like a long time, we feel like we've known each other forever, and when you know, you just know. We are talking about marriage and spending our lives together, and I want to propose to her on Christmas. Anyway, she has an ex-fiancee she was with for a year until he left for the marines. She broke it off with him after about 5 months of his absence because she couldn't stand not having somebody actually by her side. Well they had still been talking until she recently discovered how much her and I were in love and how I treat her so much better than he ever did. She keeps telling him that but he keeps acting like she's just mad at him and she will get over it. She says she is positive she wants to be with me, but that it is so hard to say goodbye to someone you were with for that long. I just need to know how I can help her get over him so her and I can start our lives together.

Well, the best advice I can give you is to pay more attention to her and not him. Maybe if you treat her a lot better she will adjust to you. You said you were only together for 3 months so give her more time.
