Title:
best friend on drugs.....help me before its too la
By: 120903
ok-about a month ago, my best friend confessed to me that she's been doing drugs since she was about 12, and we're now 15. I told her what consequences she's gonna face if she doesnt stop, i also told her that i love her to death and that i'd be there for her no matter what. about a week later she got a ticket for juvenile possesion and a fine and a court date and all that stuff. her parents have lost all trust in her...and i feel like she's shutting out everyone in her life. recently she stopped talking to me and has been skipping class ever chance she gets to go get high with people she thinks are her "friends" but i know, that they dont give a shit about her, but she has yet to realize it. i hate to say this, but i'm so close to giving up on her-she's turned into someone i cant stand! i dont know what to do...should i try talking to her? or should i completely give up on her and let her live her own life and ruin it or whatever she wants?

You should tell her that she is much to good of a friend to do bad things. If she starts to feel bad about herself, you should say that you'll be there for her to protect her and help her. Putting it simply, friendship, trust, and kindness will always prevail over drugs. You should also tell her that she should take a hard look at herself and see how she is destroying herself. By the way, it is normal for people to get mad. Just say that the drugs are causing them to get mad. (It actually is true because drugs reduce the amount of oxygen in the brain, which decreases the ability to calm) Another effective thing you can say is that if she believes in herself and stays happy, she can stop. Good luck to you and to her.
